Picene Colore is a classic strain for violin varnishing. This composition colour is available in a dry powder form or as a ready to use varnish. The principle colourants are terra rosa, cinnabar, calcined dried vine less, plant pigment reseda & plant pigment madder lake. The slightly cloudy coloured varnish can be rendered more transparent by careful grinding with muller and slab as required.
