The Narex 8116 chisel set is well finished, inexpensive and with very comfortable thin edges. We believe they are the chisels with the best value for money, but this does not mean that Narex chisels are cheap, it only means that you have a lot more from these chisels in relation to their price.
Narex forges the blades with chromium manganese spring steel (CrMn) and hardens it isothermically to produce a very uniform and consistent structure at RC59 +/- 1. During use, chromium manganese steel offers similar performance to steel carbon but it is cheaper to produce.
The sides of the chisel are approximately 1 mm offering excellent lines of sight and good ease of use.
The handles are the evolution of the shape that Narex used for the last time on a range of chisels made in the 1930s. They are in European hornbeam and are equipped with a tear-proof and self-locking plated steel ring. The hornbeam handles are slightly impregnated to protect the wood while maintaining its natural feel.
