A Pfeil they combine an ancient craft with state-of-the-art technology to make tools. The assortment of Swiss quality tools is continually being expanded in collaboration with the Brienz Woodcarving School and professional woodcarvers around the globe. They make all the tools in their own factory, and they augment the range with complementary products. Pfeil is committed to active environmental responsibility. They conserve important resources such as water, air, and energy by using them as efficiently as possible. They have optimized our production by investing in equipment for treating grinding wastewater and reclaiming scrap metal from forging and grinding. With this commitment and action, Pfeil is and will remain a leading maker of carving tools.
History
The making of Pfeil cutting tools is based on a century-long tradition of craftsmanship. The company was founded in 1902 as a cutlery manufacturer. Still a family-owned business, Pfeil is managed today by the third generation. The first tools Pfeil forged and ground were chiefly professional cutting tools and surgical instruments. In 1942 the first carving tools were produced. Within a short time the quality of the tools made them in many countries a favorite among professional carvers, amateur woodworkers, and schools.
Cremona Tools is proud to offer these popular Pfeil gouges giving a choice between the most used ones in violin making workshops. With the intention to extend the range with useful products, if you want to have different curves and dimensions we welcome your suggestions via email.
