Ebony fingerboards are highly valued in musical instruments for their hardness, durability, and rich, dark aesthetics. However, sometimes, ebony can have lighter streaks or spots that may detract from its appearance.
Ebony Black Restorer allows luthiers to darken the ebony pieces to enhance their appearance and provide a more uniform colour. It has good penetration and gives the wood a uniform colour; combining dyes and micronised pigments, its colouration is effective and long-lasting.
Testing on a small piece of the wood is always reccomended, to avoid unexpected results.

Application Guidelines
These are short, general indications. For more detailed instructions, please download the Technical Data Sheet available for this product.
- Thoroughly clean the fingerboard to remove any dirt, oil, or residue. Shake the contents of the container until the product is perfectly homogenised. Use a clean cloth to apply the dye evenly. Soak the cloth with the product and spread it along the entire piece to be dyed. The product spreads easily. Remove any excess product with a soft cloth to avoid buildup.
- The product dries quickly (5 minutes). If you want a second coat, wait 20-30 minutes. Once the product is completely dry, rub the surface with a clean cloth to remove any remaining product.
- To protect the colour and ensure proper durability, it is necessary to apply a suitable oil for wood care afterwards, such as OW Oil for Ebony. It can be used 6 to 8 hours later. Add a few drops to a clean cloth and spread it evenly over the entire surface, avoiding buildup or excess product. Wait 24 hours if a second coat is desired.
