Description / Wolf Eliminators "LupX"

WOLF ELIMINATOR FOR STRING INSTRUMENTS
The lup.X attaches to the string at a precisely defined contact point. This makes the lup.X extraordinarily precise and effective against wolf note problems. Additionally, it contains no materials such as rubber and therefore there are virtually no dampening effects: the instrument will retain its rich sound throughout its range. The lup.X is easy to fit and adjust. The smooth and delicate brass finish gives it an understated elegance, suitable for traditional string instruments.

TIPS FOR USE
The lighter the eliminator, the less influence it has on the sound. The closer the eliminator is positioned towards the bridge, the greater the influence on the sound. However, sometimes it can be better to use a slightly heavier one positioned at a greater distance from the bridge. To get the best result between function and effect on the sound, it is good to try different variations. These functional relationships apply to all wolf eliminators.

HOW TO USE
Mount the lup.X on the string that has the most annoying wolf. Start by "tuning" the eliminator to the same note as the wolf. To tune it, play with the bow on the bottom string between the bridge and the eliminator. Tune the note to the wolf frequency by slowly moving the lup.X up or down. Generally when the notes are in tune the wolf eliminator works best but you can also experiment with different positions closer or further from the bridge. Every instrument and wolf sound is unique and if the wolf frequency on your instrument changes in different weather conditions, you may need to move the eliminator slightly to maintain its effectiveness.

ABOUT THE WOLF?
The wolf note effect is caused by unwanted interference of resonant frequencies within the complex system of string instruments. Mounting a lup.X wolf eliminator on a string between the bridge and the tailpiece adds a node that eliminates, or at least moves or weakens, these unpleasant interferences.
