Limonene (orange terpene) is a completely natural solvent of plant origin (terpenes are extracted from citrus peel) with excellent solvent power for fats, oils, waxes, alkyd and natural resins, rosin, oil and oil-synthetic varnishes, bituminous varnishes, etc. It completely dissolves rosin and dammar. It has a particularly pleasant odor and is biodegradable. It also has an anti-woodworm effect. It is extracted from citrus peel by distillation and separation to obtain D-LIMONENE, used in the technical sector.

Description / Kremer Citus Turpentine 1 liter
Uses of limonene:
Due to its characteristics, it is a good cleaning agent and is particularly suitable for the production of oil-based varnishes. Its main characteristic is its low solvent power, which is evident in the remarkable distension of the applied film combined with a high gloss. Compared to turpentine, it has a less pungent odor and does not carry any harmful symbols. It is used as a substitute for mineral and/or vegetable white spirit (turpentine essence), compared to which it has superior solvent power and a pleasant odor. It can be used to prepare high-quality solvent-based impregnating agents as an alternative to water-based impregnating agents, which have lower quality standards.
