Description / Cag Small Block Plane Stainless Steel
Stainless Steel Type 316
The finger planes are made of stainless steel does not readily corrode and it's much more harder than brass. 316 grade is one of the most common stainless steel used primarily for its increased resistance to corrosion. Itโs, both strength and beauty, and that's also the reason why it has long been used to make fine watches.
Blades made of hight-speed Steel(HSS), approx. HRC 60-62
The blade made of high-speed steel (HSS) with a hardness rating of HRC 60-62. Compared to older high-carbon steel tools, our HSS blades can withstand higher temperatures without losing their temper (hardness) and remain sharp for a longer period of time. HSS is commonly used in power-saw blades and drill bits, but we also use it to make our woodworking plane blades. Its relatively good toughness and high abrasion resistance make it suitable for working on hard woods without requiring frequent sharpening.

This is a relatively small block plane, flawless in look and functionality. The cutting angle is a 45 degrees compared to other block planes of 37 degrees. That means it handles many situations with different grain orientations and such.
Cremona Tools got it to me in USA in 3-4 days. Iโm thank someone is still out there who can design and make such functional beauties. Too much unattractive junk out there. This one is legit!
